Baby's Development at Week 28
At about 376mm — the size of an eggplant — your baby's brain is developing at lightning speed, forming the grooves and folds of a mature brain. The eyes can open and close, and your baby now experiences REM sleep — which means they may be dreaming! The lungs are maturing steadily and weight gain is accelerating. Most babies are head-down by now, though there's still plenty of time to turn.

💡 Week 28 tip: Start daily kick counts — ask your doctor about the method
Your Body at Week 28
Your uterus measures about 28cm from pubic bone to top — the number in centimeters now roughly matches your week. Prenatal visits switch to every two weeks. You might feel breathless doing simple things; your body is working incredibly hard. Emotions can swing as the reality of birth approaches — talk about your feelings with your partner, friends, or doctor. There's no 'right' way to feel right now.

- Start daily kick counts — ask your doctor about the method
- Get the Rhogam shot if you're Rh-negative
- Get the Tdap vaccine if you haven't (weeks 27–36)
- Learn the signs of preterm labor — call your doctor if worried

- Talk through any fears about labor — knowledge calms
